Has anyone else here seen Trevor Nunn's movie version of "The Merchant of Venice", with Henry Goodman? I just recently saw it, and I have to tell you all, it was great. Beautiful sets, and an extremely creative setting. He sets it in 1930s pre-war Germany, which adds a lot. The acting is stunning, and I found myself almost able to believe Portia could be mistaken for a guy. If any of you have a chance to see this, do, you won't regret it. It is a fantastic retelling of (in my opinion) one of Shakespeare's best plays.
